The advantage of through the floor lifts

07 February 2011

One of the greatest problems when you find you need to install a lift in your home either due to an injury, a long term disability or old age, is that they take up a large amount of space especially if they need to carry a wheelchair as well. Stairlifts are limited in that they can only carry a person and are slow, they also make it difficult for others to use the stairs.

Through the floor lifts use the minimum amount of space though and can carry a person in a wheelchair or a person standing or seated. The seated option has a particularly small footprint on your home.
The lift itself need only take up space on one floor at a time with it being possible to use either the space above or below it the rest of the time and even walk on the floor where the lift travels as there is a trapdoor.

It comes with safety features as well to ensure that the area is clear during operation and it is easy to use with simple user friendly controls, remote controls, automatic doors and other features making it simple to use are valuable as well.
In the wheelchair version the size and ramp are designed to make it easy to get in and out of the lift on both floors.
