Hydraulic Platform
Our Independence Steplift product is built around a hydraulic platform that allows wheelchair users to circumnavigate the kind of short flights of steps often found in foyers or entrances of large buildings. By employing a hydraulic platform the user is afforded a safe and comfortable ride with a silent operation.
The “through entry model” is a much smaller, more compact model, which uses a hydraulic platform to provide access to raised areas despite a total footprint of less than 1m by 1.5m, while the “adjacent entry model” allows the user to exit the hydraulic platform to either side.
Another product we offer built around a hydraulic platform is our innovative Through-Floor lift design. This product allows the installation of a lift in the home without the inconvenience of a traditional lift shaft. The system is based on a hydraulic platform up to a certain level, at which point we would then use our unique Pollock Lifts traction-drive system.
Although some people may find the thought of a hydraulic platform in their home off-putting, modern engineering techniques combined with our cutting edge design mean that any hydraulic platform we might offer you will be as clean and quiet as you would ever want. All of our hydraulic platforms also include a number of safety features as standard, including an anti-creep system, rupture valves and an emergency lowering system.
