Goods Lift – For Functionality, Comfort And Convenience

09 December 2011

Different kinds of goods lifts

Elevators or lifts for lifting goods were used much before lifts were used for human transport. There are different kinds of lifts that help in transport of goods. Some of the most common among them are freight elevators and dumbwaiters. A dumbwaiter carries smaller loads when compared to a fright elevator. It is used in hotels, banks, restaurants, hospitals and offices to transport goods from one floor to another. These are great for vertical transportation of all things. They are not used for human transportation.

Freight elevators

Freight elevators are specifically designed to carry bigger loads. All freight elevators usually come with a statuary warning that human use is not allowed, although there is nothing illegal about humans travelling in such an elevator. Generally, freight elevators are designed so as to carry weights of up to 4500 kilograms and in this regard, they are much beneficial than dumbwaiters.  They are widely used in industries, construction sites and in shipyards. Electric freight elevators are the most common kind of elevators for goods transport. You can also choose a hydraulic fright elevator. Between the two, the electric version is better because they consume lesser energy than hydraulic lifts.
